Grayscale launches first US Zcash ETF as ZEC surges 70% in a month
ZCSH is designed to let investors gain ZEC exposure through brokerage accounts without managing the underlying crypto themselves.
Grayscale has launched the Zcash ETF, ZCSH, on NYSE Arca, becoming the first exchange-traded product to offer spot exposure to ZEC, the native token of the privacy-focused Zcash network.
ZEC has rallied 70% over the past month, climbing to $888 last weekend for its highest level in years. The digital asset was trading at around $844 at press time, per CoinGecko.
Zcash offers optional privacy alongside Bitcoin-style monetary characteristics, including a capped 21 million supply and proof-of-work consensus. Its shielded transactions can conceal sender, recipient and transaction amounts while maintaining network verification, with viewing keys allowing information to be disclosed selectively.
According to Grayscale, network upgrades such as Sapling, Orchard, NU5 and the July 2026 Ironwood release are developments that have improved shielded transactions.

The launch allows investors to access ZEC through brokerage accounts without directly buying or safeguarding the token. Grayscale said ZCSH builds on its earlier Zcash investment vehicle launched as a private placement in 2017 and sees growing demand for financial privacy as AI increases the ability to monitor financial activity.
