Injective sees nearly half of its markets tied to tokenized assets
The finance-focused Layer-1 now lists 135 real-world asset markets, from equities and FX to pre-IPO names like SpaceX and OpenAI
Nearly half of all markets on Injective now offer exposure to tokenized assets. That includes 135 real-world asset (RWA) markets spread across several asset classes.
What’s actually trading on Injective
Injective is a Layer-1 blockchain built specifically for financial applications. As of mid-October 2026, it hosts 135 active RWA perpetual markets.
A perpetual is a futures-style contract with no expiration date. It lets traders bet on an asset’s price without ever owning the asset itself.
Equities make up the bulk of the lineup, with more than 111 stock markets. The rest covers foreign exchange, commodities and indices.
Then there’s the eyebrow-raiser: pre-IPO assets. Injective lists markets tied to private companies like SpaceX and OpenAI. Neither trades on a public exchange.
The volume picture
Cumulative trading volume across Injective’s RWA perpetual markets has passed $5.3 billion since early 2025.
Monthly activity hit roughly $210 million in August 2026.

The regulatory move that changes the conversation
On October 12, 2026, Injective became the first Layer-1 blockchain registered as an SEC transfer agent.
A transfer agent keeps the official record of who owns a security. With that registration, Injective can keep securities ownership records on-chain in a compliant way.
The distinction matters. A perpetual tracks a price. A tokenized security registered through a transfer agent is meant to represent legal ownership.
The registration followed a new whitepaper published on October 7, 2026. That document laid out three main features: native RWA issuance, role-based permissions, and iAssets, a set of derivatives products.
Role-based permissions let issuers control who can hold or move certain assets ā a capability regulated securities generally require.
Beyond derivatives: mortgages on-chain
More than $1 billion worth of mortgage records have been tokenized on-chain. Pineapple Financial is aiming for more than $10 billion in total tokenization.
What this means
For traders, the appeal is access. Equities, FX, commodities and pre-IPO names all sit in one on-chain venue.
Pre-IPO perpetuals track companies with no public price discovery, which can make valuations hard to anchor. Thinly traded markets can also see sharp swings and wide spreads.
A few things are worth tracking from here. First, whether monthly RWA volume climbs meaningfully above the roughly $210 million recorded in August. Second, whether the transfer agent status leads to native securities issuance on the chain. Third, whether Pineapple Financial moves closer to its $10 billion tokenization goal.
