Most of its revenue comes from product sales of branded drugs, with a smaller share from royalties and partnerships. Its products include Prolia, Repatha, Otezla, Enbrel, Kyprolis, and Evenity, among others. Robert Bradway serves as chief executive, and the company is based in Thousand Oaks, California. Amgen operates in about 100 countries and had around 28,000 employees as of 2025. In October 2023 it acquired Horizon Therapeutics, which formed the basis of its rare disease business.
