About Blockchain Capital
Blockchain Capital is a venture capital firm that launched what it describes as the first tokenized fund and the first security token in 2017. The BCAP token was introduced on May 11, 2017. Rather than operating as a general-purpose blockchain network, Blockchain Capital uses a tokenized fund structure built on Ethereum. BCAP is an ERC-20 security token, and its design does not involve proof of work, proof of stake, or a base-layer consensus mechanism of its own. The token gives holders a fractional economic interest in Blockchain Capital's venture fund portfolio and its underlying assets. BCAP is not used for gas fees, staking, or on-chain governance. Circulating supply is approximately 9.1 million tokens, with no ongoing emissions, and the supply is considered effectively fixed.
