About Global Dollar

Global Dollar (USDG) is a fiat-backed stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US dollar, used in payments, exchange trading, and decentralized finance. It is issued by Paxos Digital Singapore Pte. Ltd. and Paxos Issuance Europe. The Singapore entity is supervised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore under MAS frameworks, while the European entity is regulated by the Finnish FIN-FSA under EU MiCA stablecoin rules. Paxos, a US fintech company founded in 2012, launched USDG in November 2024. USDG is not a standalone blockchain. It is a token issued across multiple public permissionless networks, including Ethereum, Solana, Mantle, Ink, X Layer, and Robinhood Chain, and relies on each underlying chain's own consensus mechanism. Each USDG token is backed 1:1 by cash and short-term US Treasury equivalents held in segregated, bankruptcy-remote accounts. Supply expands or contracts through a mint-and-redeem model with no fixed cap. The token is used for payments settlement, exchange trading pairs, DeFi collateral, and as the core asset in the Global Dollar Network's revenue-sharing model for partners. USDG is a multi-chain regulated stablecoin built to provide dollar-denominated liquidity across jurisdictions and platforms.
