About NEXO
Nexo is a centralized crypto finance platform that offers crypto-backed loans, interest-earning accounts, trading, and payment cards. Antoni Trenchev, Georgi Shulev, and Kosta Kantchev founded it in 2017, and it launched in 2018 after an initial coin offering. Nexo does not operate its own blockchain. Its native token is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and depends on Ethereum's proof-of-stake consensus. The token uses the ticker NEXO and functions as a utility and loyalty token within the platform. Holders use NEXO to get better borrowing and lending rates, earn rewards on their holdings, receive trading discounts, and get cashback on card and exchange transactions. The total supply is hard-capped at one billion tokens with no further minting possible, and effectively the entire supply is in circulation. Nexo is a centralized lending and yield platform where the NEXO token determines the terms users receive across its financial products.
