MoneyGram launches stablecoin-backed card in Colombia
The card was developed with Rain, Crossmint and Stellar, combining Rain's stablecoin payment and card infrastructure with Crossmint's wallet technology and the Stellar network.
MoneyGram has launched a stablecoin-backed card that gives eligible customers a stable-dollar balance they can hold, spend and use for cash access.
Integrated into the MoneyGram app, the card lets users sign up, manage their funds and make payments through the same platform they already use for MoneyGram services, the company stated. It can be used online, in stores and across borders wherever Visa is accepted.
MoneyGram developed the card with Rain, using Rain’s card infrastructure alongside Crossmint’s wallet capabilities and the Stellar network.
According to MoneyGram, the card can be added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet for contactless payments and online shopping. For cash access, users can transfer money from their MoneyGram balance and collect local currency at a nearby MoneyGram location.

The launch builds on MoneyGram’s 85-year payments infrastructure and global network, which includes more than 60 million active customers, nearly 500,000 retail locations and coverage across more than 200 countries and territories.
The card is first available in Colombia, with more markets planned in the coming months. The company also expects to launch a physical version in late 2026 for ATM withdrawals and in-person purchases.
