OpenAI sets DevDay keynote for 10am PT, promises new features
Sam Altman teases a mysterious 'new thing' ahead of the company's largest developer conference yet at Fort Mason in San Francisco
OpenAI’s DevDay keynote kicks off at 10 a.m. PT on September 29, with CEO Sam Altman taking the stage at Fort Mason in San Francisco. The night before, Altman posted a characteristically cryptic tease: “Pretty excited for DevDay tomorrow. We have found a new thing.”
The event runs a full day, starting with breakfast at 8 a.m. PT for in-person attendees. The keynote itself occupies the 10 a.m. slot, followed by breakout sessions running from 11:15 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. A closing session lands at 4 p.m., and a reception wraps things up from 4:45 to 7 p.m.
Joining Altman on the keynote stage are Romain Huet, Holly Li, and Tejal Patwardhan. Applications for in-person attendance have already closed. For everyone else, the keynote and sessions will be livestreamed for free, with recordings available afterward.
OpenAI is positioning this as its largest DevDay to date. The company also plans to follow up with a series of smaller “DevDay Exchanges” in cities around the world.
