The yield-trading protocol climbed from seventh to second place in roughly a month as tokenized equity deposits in DeFi surged

Pendle now holds about 17% of the DeFi market for tokenized stocks. That makes it the second-largest decentralized venue for on-chain equities.

A month earlier, the protocol ranked seventh. Jumping five spots in thirty days is the DeFi version of a midseason trade that suddenly makes a team a contender.

How Pendle climbed the rankings

The climb was measured as of November 2, 2026. It came after a month of rapid deposit growth into Pendle’s tokenized-stock markets.

Over the month ending October 31, 2026, Pendle’s tokenized-stock total value locked (TVL) rose by $16 million. That brought its total in the category to $33.8 million.

TVL is simply the dollar value of assets users have parked in a protocol.

For comparison, Aave V4 added $9.2 million over the same stretch. Pendle’s gain was meaningfully larger, which helped it leapfrog several rivals.

The competitive field includes Uniswap and Kamino, alongside Pendle.

The products behind the push

Pendle’s core design is the reason it can play in this market at all. The protocol takes a yield-bearing asset and splits it into two separate tradable pieces.

One piece is the principal token, or PT. The other is the yield token, or YT.

Pendle has been extending that model to tokenized equities. In mid-October 2026, it integrated yield markets for GOOGLc and NVDAc on Base, the Ethereum layer-2 network.

Each of those markets launched with $20K USDC in liquidity incentives.

Then, on October 22, 2026, Pendle launched PendleLoop. The product lets users open leveraged long positions on seven tokenized stocks with a single click.

Leverage ratios range from 2.6x to 4.2x. The positions run through Aave markets.

Pendle has also been adding new yield markets on networks including Base and Robinhood Chain.

A small market growing very fast

The broader backdrop explains why a $33.8 million position can earn a podium finish. Tokenized stocks in DeFi remain a young category.

Data from Token Terminal shows tokenized-stock deposits across DeFi protocols reached approximately $300 million by late October 2026. A year earlier, that figure stood at around $11.8 million.

That works out to a 25-fold increase.

Still, DeFi’s slice is small relative to the total. The broader tokenized equities market is valued between $3.8 billion and $4.6 billion.

What this means for Pendle and the tokenized stock race

PendleLoop is worth watching closely. Leverage between 2.6x and 4.2x on single stocks can amplify returns, but it amplifies losses just as faithfully, and liquidation mechanics on Aave do not care how confident a trader felt at entry.

The math also cuts both ways. In a category measured in hundreds of millions of dollars, a $16 million monthly gain can reshuffle the leaderboard. A similarly sized outflow could reshuffle it right back.
