Perplexity Computer adds interactive TradingView charts to its AI toolkit
Perplexity's agentic AI tool now builds interactive charts and visualizations for financial data using TradingView
Perplexity Computer can now generate interactive charts and visualizations, and it uses TradingView charts to display financial data.
The announcement came through X. It adds a visual layer to a product Perplexity AI has been positioning as a serious tool for financial analysis.
What Perplexity Computer actually does
Perplexity Computer is an agentic AI tool built by Perplexity AI. Agentic means it is designed to carry out multi-step tasks on its own, rather than answering one question and waiting for the next.
The product was officially launched and expanded in 2026. Its focus is streamlining multi-step workflows, with financial analysis as a core use case.
One headline capability is building interactive dashboards. These pull together live financial data from multiple sources and present it visually.
The target users are analysts and traders. That includes people examining individual stocks, ETFs, and macroeconomic data.
How the TradingView connection works
Users run screeners written in Pine Script, TradingView’s own scripting language for building custom indicators and filters. Popular examples include screens that flag earnings acceleration or measure relative strength.
AI, tech, and the markets they move—in one daily briefing.
Daily. Free. Join 34,000+ readers across crypto, finance, and policy.
Those flagged tickers then get fed into Perplexity Computer for further visualization and analysis. TradingView finds the candidates, and the AI does the follow-up homework.
Third-party tools have also entered the mix. The TradingView AI Analyst Chrome plugin is one example cited as enhancing how Perplexity works alongside TradingView.
That plugin brings AI functionality directly into the TradingView environment. It reportedly improves symbol detection and layers AI insights onto a user’s analysis.
A steady build-out of finance features
The platform already offered annotated interactive stock charts. These combine price data with significant events, so a chart can show not just where a stock moved but what happened around the move.
Those charts were enhanced by 2025 to include pre-market and post-market data.
The bigger milestone came on May 5, 2026. Perplexity released a finance-specific version of Perplexity Computer featuring more than 35 workflows.
Those workflows were tailored for specific professional groups. The release targeted public equities professionals and real estate professionals in particular.
What this means for traders and analysts
Interactivity is a key detail. A static chart image is a snapshot. An interactive chart lets users zoom, hover, and explore the data themselves, which keeps the human in the loop rather than just accepting the AI’s summary.
Integration depth is another variable. Today, much of the TradingView and Perplexity workflow involves users moving tickers between platforms or leaning on third-party plugins, and tighter native connections would make the pairing far more seamless.
