Phantom wallet adds native BNB Chain support for in-app trading
The Solana-born wallet now lets users hold, send, and trade on BNB Chain without switching to a separate EVM wallet
BNB Chain is now live on Phantom, and users can trade on it directly inside the app.
The integration was announced on October 1, 2026. It gives Phantom users native access to BNB Chain, the network also known as BSC. They can check balances, send and receive tokens, and trade without leaving the app.
Users need to update Phantom to the latest version before the new features show up.
What Phantom actually shipped
Before this update, BNB Chain was on Phantom’s unsupported list. Users holding BSC assets were pointed toward EVM-compatible wallets like MetaMask to manage or recover them.
The new release goes further than basic storage. Phantom’s in-app trading for BNB Chain includes token swaps, plus perpetual contracts powered by Hyperliquid.
Phantom is keeping its non-custodial setup intact. Users hold their own keys, which means the company never takes control of the funds sitting in the wallet.

A little social media theater first
Ahead of the official announcement, Phantom and Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, better known as CZ, traded posts on social media that built anticipation for the feature.
BNB is the native gas token of BNB Smart Chain, so anyone using apps or services on the network needs it to pay transaction fees.
Phantom’s multi-chain march continues
BNB Chain now joins a lineup that includes Solana, Ethereum, and Polygon, among other networks. The company also added Robinhood Chain in July 2026, so this is the latest step in a pattern rather than a one-off pivot.
BNB Chain sits firmly in the EVM-compatible camp, alongside networks like Ethereum and Polygon. Solana runs on a different architecture entirely, which has historically meant separate tooling for each world.
What this means for traders and the wallet race
The most immediate impact falls on BNB Chain users who were already using Phantom for Solana. They no longer need MetaMask or another EVM wallet sitting on the side just to touch their BSC holdings.
The Hyperliquid piece deserves particular attention. Offering perps inside a mainstream wallet puts leveraged trading closer to everyday users, which broadens access but also raises the stakes for anyone who wanders in without understanding liquidation risk.
For BNB Chain, the integration opens a new distribution channel. Phantom’s user base, much of it rooted in Solana, now has a frictionless path into BSC applications that previously required extra setup.
