Safe integrates Zerion API for DeFi position tracking
The multisig wallet provider plugs into Zerion's data layer to surface lending, staking, and liquidity positions across dozens of chains without building its own indexing stack.
Safe, the multisig wallet protocol formerly known as Gnosis Safe, has integrated Zerion’s wallet data API to power its DeFi position tracking. The move hands off a significant infrastructure burden to a specialist, letting Safe surface token balances, lending positions, staking rewards, liquidity pool exposure, and transaction histories without maintaining its own indexing system.
What Zerion actually brings to the table
Zerion indexes data across more than 4,500 DeFi protocols and delivers structured wallet data spanning 38 or more blockchains. The company already serves Coinbase, Uniswap, and Kraken as API clients, which puts Safe in well-resourced company and signals that the infrastructure is load-tested at serious scale.
The API surfaces more than just raw token balances. It includes profit-and-loss metrics and full transaction histories, the kind of data that turns a wallet dashboard from a static ledger into something that actually helps a user understand what their capital is doing across a fragmented multi-chain portfolio.
Zerion also expanded its API capabilities in 2026 to include new documentation and AI-agent tooling, additions that give developer teams more flexible ways to query and interpret on-chain data. Safe’s integration slots into a platform that is actively developing rather than maintaining a static product.

The build-vs-buy calculus in crypto infrastructure
Safe’s core value proposition is security architecture, specifically its multisig structure and the trust model that comes with it. Offloading DeFi data aggregation to Zerion lets the team concentrate engineering attention on that core problem instead of splitting it across infrastructure maintenance.
Neither Safe nor Zerion has connected the integration to any token activity or funding developments. This is two companies doing a B2B data deal, one buying a service the other sells.
