Strategy’s MSTR daily trading volume surpasses Boeing’s

Michael Saylor's Bitcoin treasury company is out-trading some of the biggest names on US exchanges
Strategy now trades more shares in a day than Boeing does. A company best known for buying Bitcoin is out-churning one of America’s most recognizable industrial names.
The shift was spotlighted in an April 29, 2026 social media post from BitcoinTreasuries. It showed Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR) beating Boeing (NYSE: BA) on daily trading volume.
The numbers behind the churn
On select days in 2026, MSTR’s share volume topped Boeing’s. Boeing logged roughly 9 million shares, worth about $1.6 billion in dollar volume.
Strategy has averaged between 22 and 25 million shares traded per day. On active trading days, that works out to a daily dollar volume of approximately $1.5 billion to $3.9 billion.
Through mid-to-late 2026, average dollar turnover ran from $2 billion to $3.9 billion. On its busiest days, volume reached between 46 and 49 million shares.
Those surges pushed MSTR into the top 10 most actively traded US stocks on certain days. More broadly, it has ranked somewhere in the top 10 to 30.
Boeing isn’t the only heavyweight Strategy has passed. MSTR’s daily volume has also topped JPMorgan’s at points this year.
Size is what makes this strange. Strategy’s market capitalization tends to sit between $38 billion and $50 billion.

JPMorgan’s market cap is above $950 billion. Strategy is being traded like a giant while being valued at a fraction of one.
How a software company became a Bitcoin proxy
Strategy Inc. used to be called MicroStrategy. Under Michael Saylor, it turned into the most prominent corporate Bitcoin holder on the public markets.
The company holds over 845,000 BTC. It paid more than $63 billion to acquire them.
A treasury that size means the stock moves largely on Bitcoin sentiment. When Bitcoin swings, traders pile into MSTR to express a view, which goes a long way toward explaining the volume.
Owning MSTR gives investors Bitcoin exposure through an ordinary brokerage account. No wallets, no private keys, no explaining self-custody to your accountant.
What this means for traders and the market
Heavy volume and a modest market cap are a combustible pair. When a smaller company sees this much daily turnover, price moves can be sharp in both directions.
The liquidity itself carries real benefits. Deep daily volume means large positions can generally be entered and exited without trouble, which matters to institutions weighing exposure to the asset class.
The flip side is concentration risk. Strategy’s activity depends heavily on one asset’s price, and enthusiasm built on a single driver can cool just as quickly as it heats up.
For now, Strategy has earned an unusual distinction. A company holding over 845,000 BTC is commanding more daily trading than an aerospace icon, and Wall Street’s leaderboard looks a little different because of it.
