Telegram’s crypto lineup expands as Wallet rebrands to Walt alongside new Gram wallet
The crypto platform will focus on trading, investing and multi-chain products while Telegram’s new Gram wallet becomes the simpler entry point for everyday crypto use.
Wallet in Telegram is rebranding as Walt as Telegram reshapes its crypto ecosystem around a new Gram wallet aimed at simpler everyday payments and transfers.
Wallet becomes Walt
What started as a wallet to buy Toncoin has grown into a full-scale crypto platform for trading, investing, earning and more, with access to 300 assets.
We've outgrown the idea of being "just a wallet." The product has evolved – the name should too. Wallet… pic.twitter.com/fX8Nw6SBSn

Andrew Rogozov, CEO and founder of The Open Platform and Walt, said the change reflects how the product has expanded beyond its origins as a basic Telegram wallet into a broader crypto platform offering trading, earn products, multi-chain assets, tokenized stocks and gold.
The distinction also gives Telegram’s two crypto products clearer roles.
Telegram’s Gram wallet will serve as the simpler entry point, allowing users to buy and hold Gram, send Gifts, purchase Stars, transfer funds and interact with apps and services across Telegram.
Walt will target users looking for more advanced crypto functionality, including trading, investing, cross-chain transfers and access to a wider range of assets. It will also provide infrastructure allowing users to fund their Gram wallets.

The rebrand changes the product’s name, logo and social handles but does not require users to migrate their accounts or assets. Existing funds, settings and account information will remain unchanged.
Walt will now be available through the @walt Telegram account, while Gram wallet will take the previous Wallet position within Telegram’s settings.
The transition comes five years after the product launched as a wallet bot for buying Toncoin and Bitcoin. It has since expanded into a platform serving millions of users and supporting hundreds of crypto assets.
Walt is also preparing to broaden its product lineup beyond its existing trading and investment tools.
The company plans to introduce crypto cards that allow users to spend digital assets in the real world, alongside AI-powered trading features built around conversational interfaces.
According to Rogozov, those AI tools are intended to help users analyze markets, assess portfolio risk, discover trading opportunities and execute perpetual futures trades.
Walt expects Telegram’s Gram wallet to bring a larger group of users into crypto through simpler payments before some move into more advanced financial products offered through Walt.
