Tokenized equities volume explodes to $18.2B in July, a 4.4x surge from June
Decentralized exchanges captured the lion's share of volume as Binance's bStocks platform hit $500 million in assets within seven weeks of launch
Tokenized equities just had their breakout month. Trading volume hit $18.2 billion in July, according to Binance Research, representing a 4.4x increase over June’s figures. To put that in perspective, a single month of trading outpaced the total volume from the previous six months combined.
The year-to-date total for 2026 now sits at $34.3 billion, and more than half of that came from July alone.
DEXs are eating CEXs’ lunch
The breakdown of where that volume landed tells a story all by itself. Decentralized exchanges captured $12.8 billion of the $18.2 billion total. Centralized exchanges handled the remaining $5.4 billion.
DEX platforms offer on-chain pricing in real time, and critically, they accommodate weekend trading. That means market participants can react to equity price movements before traditional markets even open on Monday morning.
Binance’s bStocks is growing absurdly fast
A big chunk of this story centers on Binance’s bStocks platform, which launched on June 11, 2026. In just seven weeks, it accumulated over $500 million in assets under management. That pace of growth gave bStocks a 27% share of the global tokenized equity market cap by late July.
The overall tokenized equity market cap was hovering around $1.5 to $1.7 billion earlier in July.
CoinDesk separately reported $11.3 billion in trading volume for tokenized stocks and ETFs in July, with much of that activity driven by a single Binance-linked token. The discrepancy between Binance Research’s $18.2 billion figure and CoinDesk’s $11.3 billion likely reflects different methodologies and platform coverage.
Specific products drove outsized results. SPY-related trading volume jumped to 2.3% of the monthly total, up from just 0.4% in June. Products like QQQB, a tokenized version tied to the Nasdaq-100, contributed substantially to the volume surge. Cumulative trading volumes on BNB Chain alone exceeded $5 billion in July.
The bigger picture: RWAs are no longer a niche experiment
Tokenized equities sit within the broader real-world asset (RWA) category. Binance Research data shows the tokenized RWA market has grown 589% from early 2025 to mid-2026.
