Tottenham Hotspur nears deal for Omar Marmoush after positive talks
The Egyptian forward has agreed personal terms as Spurs continue their mammoth summer spending spree under Roberto De Zerbi
Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a deal to sign Omar Marmoush from Manchester City, with the Egyptian forward already agreeing to the move following productive negotiations between the two clubs.
The transfer, which would value Marmoush between £70 million and £75 million, represents yet another blockbuster addition to a Spurs squad that has been completely overhauled this summer. Tottenham have now spent north of £300 million on new arrivals under manager Roberto De Zerbi.
From Frankfurt sensation to City squad player
At Eintracht Frankfurt, Marmoush scored 27 goals in 46 appearances during the 2024-25 season. Manchester City signed him in January 2025, paying an initial fee of £59 million to bring him to the Etihad.
Marmoush managed 10 goals in 37 appearances for City. His desire for regular playing time, limited primarily due to the presence of Erling Haaland, has been the catalyst for this move.
De Zerbi’s spending spree reaches new heights
The spending started with Sandro Tonali, who arrived for a reported £100 million. Then came Mateus Fernandes at £85 million and Jan Paul van Hencke at £52 million. Adding Marmoush at potentially £75 million would bring the summer’s outlay to a staggering total.

Reports suggest that talks between Tottenham and Manchester City could also involve Brazilian forward Savinho in a separate transaction. If both deals go through, the combined cost could land somewhere between £140 million and £160 million for the pair.
What Marmoush brings to north London
Marmoush’s versatility is a major draw. He can operate as a central striker, on either wing, or as a second striker, giving De Zerbi tactical flexibility.
No formal agreement has been reached yet, but personal terms are already settled and both clubs are engaged in constructive negotiations, with the final hurdle being agreement on the exact transfer fee.
City, for their part, would recoup a healthy profit on a player they signed for £59 million, with Marmoush’s current valuation sitting at £70 million to £75 million.
