TRON integrates Ethena’s USDe and sUSDe for seamless cross-chain bridging
Ethena's synthetic dollar tokens land on one of crypto's busiest stablecoin highways, with DeFi integrations on deck
Ethena’s synthetic dollar tokens, USDe and sUSDe, are now live on TRON, giving one of crypto’s most heavily trafficked networks a new pair of dollar-denominated assets. The integration, announced jointly by TRON DAO and Ethena Labs, uses Stargate Finance as the bridging layer, letting users move both tokens onto TRON for holding, transferring, and eventually deploying across the chain’s DeFi ecosystem.
TRON has become the workhorse blockchain for stablecoin settlement, boasting over 403 million accounts and processing enormous volumes of dollar-pegged transactions daily.
What USDe and sUSDe actually do
USDe is a synthetic dollar, meaning it maintains its peg through a delta-neutral strategy rather than sitting on a pile of bank deposits or Treasury bills. The protocol takes collateral and hedges it with futures positions, effectively canceling out price exposure to keep the token pegged near $1.
sUSDe is the staked version of USDe, a yield-bearing token that lets holders earn rewards generated by Ethena’s hedging strategy.
Why TRON makes sense for Ethena
Ethena’s USDe already operates on more than a dozen blockchain networks, so multichain expansion isn’t new territory for the protocol. TRON’s low transaction fees and high throughput make it a significant rail for peer-to-peer dollar movements, and its stablecoin ecosystem has been heavily dominated by a single issuer. Adding a synthetic dollar with a different backing mechanism diversifies the asset options available to TRON users.

DeFi rollout is just getting started
The initial launch covers bridging, holding, and transferring USDe and sUSDe on TRON. TRON DAO and Ethena Labs have outlined plans to integrate both tokens into JustLend DAO and SUN.io, two of the most prominent DeFi protocols in the TRON ecosystem, with those integrations expected in the coming weeks.
JustLend DAO serves as TRON’s primary lending and borrowing platform. Adding USDe as a supported asset there would let users deposit it as collateral or supply it for lending yield. SUN.io is TRON’s decentralized exchange and liquidity hub; integration there would create trading pairs and liquidity pools for USDe. Beyond those two platforms, the roadmap includes broader wallet, exchange, and payment app support.
The Stargate Finance integration enables native asset transfers between chains without the wrapped token problem, where bridged assets lose composability because they aren’t recognized by destination chain protocols. By using Stargate, Ethena ensures that USDe on TRON behaves like a native asset from day one, which is critical for the planned DeFi integrations to work smoothly.
