The decentralized GPU network crossed 80 million frames around September 10 and kept going, while a short film made on it collected festival awards
Render Network has now rendered more than 82 million frames since it began counting. Its dashboard puts the exact figure at 82,560,402 as of September 2026.
The network crossed the 80 million mark around September 10. It then added more than 2 million frames soon after.
Render Network is a decentralized GPU compute platform. The simplest way to picture it is a ride-share app for graphics cards: people with spare GPU power supply it, and artists who need heavy rendering work done rent it. Instead of buying a room full of hardware, a studio taps a distributed pool of machines and pays in the network’s RENDER token.
The numbers behind the milestone
The growth was documented in the Render Network Foundation’s monthly report.
In August 2026, the network produced 1,328,005 frames. That compares with 1,081,561 frames in July, a 23% month-over-month increase.
The September Foundation report also pointed to a high-profile commercial job. Render was used to create 18K-resolution immersive artworks for the SUBMERGE exhibition at ARTECHOUSE in Washington, D.C.

Sunspark gets its moment
Alongside the milestone, the Foundation highlighted Sunspark, an animated short film directed by Danny Bourque. The film was rendered entirely on Render Network and used more than 27,000 frames from the platform.
Since then, Sunspark has screened at more than 50 film festivals. It also picked up the Best Animation award at the Twelve Lions Film Festival.
Integrations and token economics
Several ecosystem developments arrived around the same time as the frame milestone. Salad integrated payments using the RENDER token, and OTOY pushed updates to its OctaneRender software.
Underpinning all of this is the network’s Burn & Mint Equilibrium model. The design is meant to connect the RENDER token’s value to how much the platform is actually used.
On the market side, RENDER gained 27% during Q3 2026, rising from $1.51 to $1.91. According to the research findings, that move was partly driven by the integrations above and the token’s ongoing inclusion in investment products such as Grayscale’s Decentralized AI Fund.
