Missing figures stay unavailable. Forward P/E requires a dated source. Annual revenue, revenue growth, net income and margin come from each company's own 10-K, in US dollars, and each row shows that fiscal year. Revenue growth compares the fiscal year with the prior year stated in the same 10-K. Net income is the full year amount attributable to the company, or available to common stockholders where the filing states only that, or consolidated net income. Each row names its basis. Trailing P/E reads "Not meaningful" when the dated trailing diluted EPS is a loss or zero. An operating margin appears only when the filing states both the operating income and the revenue for the same year.
Sources: SEC filings, Gloria daily closes and CoinGecko. Oldest record refresh: Oct 27, 2026, 10:51 PM EDT. Refresh is not a price or filing date. Each row shows its price date and its annual fiscal period. Peers use industry code and company size, or editorial selection. Market cap multiplies that row price by the company share total the latest SEC filing states for every share class together. Trailing P/E divides it by trailing diluted earnings from SEC filings. Rolled earnings per share are approximate because share counts can change between periods. Both appear only when the SEC data carries its date, so they are estimates at one price date, not synchronized filing valuations. Not investment advice.

For about two years, the dominant theory was that chatbots would eat Google Search alive. Alphabet’s latest numbers suggest the patient is doing fine, thanks.
CEO Sundar Pichai says Google Search queries are now growing at their fastest year-over-year rate in five years. He points squarely at artificial intelligence as the reason.
What Alphabet reported
The comments came alongside Alphabet’s Q3 2026 earnings report, released on October 28, 2026. The headline figure was consolidated revenue of $127.6 billion, a 25% increase from the same quarter a year earlier.
Revenue from Google Search and other rose 12% year-over-year. Solid, if not spectacular.
The real fireworks came from Google Cloud. Cloud revenue jumped 103% to $30.7 billion.
Pichai framed AI as the common thread across the results. The company’s AI products are posting some very large user counts:
- AI Mode passed 1 billion monthly users.
- AI Overviews, the AI-generated summaries that appear at the top of search results, exceeded 2.5 billion monthly users by mid-2026.
The cannibalization fear that hasn’t shown up
The worry around Google has been simple. If people can ask a chatbot a question and get a full answer, why would they type it into a search bar and click on ads?
The data Alphabet is highlighting tells a different story. Query numbers have not declined, according to the research findings tied to the report. Users are instead running longer, multi-turn searches, essentially having a conversation with Search rather than firing off two-word fragments.
AI, tech, and the markets they move—in one daily briefing.

There is also evidence of increased commercial intent alongside AI tool usage. Translation for non-marketers: people using these features are more often looking to buy something. That is the exact behavior advertisers pay a premium to reach.
AI Overviews in particular has been linked to a rise in total search queries. Rather than ending a search session, the AI summary appears to be prompting more of them.
A wrinkle in the revenue story
Query growth and revenue growth do not move in perfect lockstep, and the figures show it.
Search revenue growth rates landed in the 17-19% range in previous quarters spanning 2025 and early 2026. The 12% increase reported for Search and other in Q3 2026 sits below that band.
So more people are searching more often, but the reported revenue figure for that segment grew more slowly than it had in recent quarters. Monetizing a long, conversational AI search is a different problem than selling ads next to ten blue links, and the playbook is still being written.
Why the AI bet looks different now
The Cloud result is the clearest proof point. Companies building and running AI products need enormous computing capacity, and a 103% revenue surge to $30.7 billion suggests a lot of them are renting it from Google.
On the consumer side, user counts like 2.5 billion for AI Overviews show Google has a distribution advantage few competitors can match. It can push a new AI feature into a product billions of people already open every day, without asking anyone to download anything.
What this means
For investors, the quarter offers a counterargument to the narrative that generative AI is an existential threat to Google. The research findings frame AI as able to strengthen traditional business models in digital advertising and cloud services, rather than simply disrupt them. Growth in longer queries and commercial intent could give Alphabet a more stable revenue base as search behavior evolves.
The risks are real, though. The gap between record query growth and a 12% Search and other revenue increase is the obvious one to track. Cloud growth at 103% is also a high bar to maintain, and any slowdown will draw scrutiny given how much of the AI story now rests on it.
