The crypto prop firm now offers gold with up to 5x leverage and has halved fees across its real-world asset markets
Breakout, the crypto-focused proprietary trading firm, has added gold to its menu. Traders can now take positions with up to 5x leverage, and fees on every real-world asset (RWA) trade have been cut in half.
What Breakout actually launched
Gold went live on October 29, 2026, under the ticker GOLD. The headline number is leverage: up to 5x on positions.
Breakout also set the maximum position size for gold at $500,000. That is the largest cap on any commodity the firm offers, topping the limits it applies to markets like Brent crude and silver.
The second half of the announcement is about cost. Trading fees on all of Breakout’s RWA markets dropped from 0.04% to 0.02% per order, a 50% reduction that also took effect on October 29, 2026.
A wider commodities lineup, around the clock
Gold is not arriving alone. Breakout’s RWA lineup also includes Brent crude, natural gas, and copper.
Those sit alongside the firm’s existing traditional markets, which include the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 indices. Breakout is making all of it tradable 24/7, gold included.
One detail worth flagging: the gold product does not involve tokenized gold. The trades appear to track traditional or synthetic spot prices rather than any onchain gold token.

How the Breakout model works
For readers unfamiliar with prop firms, the setup is a bit like a tryout. Traders prove themselves in an evaluation, and if they pass, they trade the firm’s money instead of their own.
At Breakout, successful traders can access up to $200,000 in funded capital. They keep between 80% and 90% of the profits they generate.
The rules are deliberately simple. Traders operate under a maximum drawdown limit and a daily loss limit, which act as guardrails on how much of the firm’s capital can disappear.
Breakout raised $4.5 million in seed funding in July 2024. The firm says it has paid out more than $80 million to traders.
Why gold, and why now
The gold launch reportedly answers demand from Breakout’s own traders, who had asked for access to the metal.
What this means for traders and competitors
The $500,000 gold cap stands out. Setting gold’s limit above other commodities suggests Breakout expects heavier interest in gold than in, say, natural gas or copper.
For traders, the clearest benefit is cost. Halving fees from 0.04% to 0.02% improves the math on every RWA trade.
The risks deserve equal attention. Leverage of up to 5x on any asset raises the stakes, and the drawdown and daily loss limits mean a funded account can be lost through a few poorly timed moves.
The decision to skip tokenized gold is also worth watching. As tokenized commodities gain attention elsewhere in crypto, Breakout has chosen price-tracking exposure instead, prioritizing simplicity over onchain ownership.
