Coinbase brings $7.5 billion cbBTC to Robinhood Chain through Chainlink
The integration brings Coinbase’s Bitcoin-backed asset to Robinhood Chain with Chainlink providing the cross-chain infrastructure.
Coinbase is expanding cbBTC to Robinhood Chain using Chainlink CCIP as the asset’s exclusive cross-chain infrastructure.
The integration gives applications on Robinhood Chain access to cbBTC, Coinbase’s Bitcoin-backed token, which has more than $7.5 billion in circulation.
Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol will enable cbBTC to move between networks while Coinbase continues to handle custody and issuance of the underlying asset.
The expansion could allow cbBTC to be used as collateral across lending markets on Robinhood Chain while also supporting Bitcoin-denominated vaults, yield strategies, and structured products.
It will also bring cbBTC liquidity to trading venues on the network and enable transfers between Base and Robinhood Chain through CCIP.

The integration uses Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Token standard, which allows cbBTC to expand across networks without creating separate versions of the underlying asset on each chain.
Coinbase keeps the Bitcoin backing cbBTC under a single custody and issuance structure, while Chainlink provides the infrastructure for moving the token across supported networks.
Robinhood launched the public mainnet of Robinhood Chain in July as an Ethereum layer 2 focused on financial services, tokenized assets, and decentralized finance. Chainlink was among the infrastructure providers integrated with the network at launch.
