GoPro tokenized shares go live on Solana via Sunrise platform
Backpack Securities adds the action camera maker to its growing roster of tokenized equities trading around the clock on Solana
You can now buy GoPro stock on a blockchain. Tokenized shares of the action camera company, trading under the ticker $GPRO, are live on Solana through the Sunrise asset gateway, giving crypto-native investors a new way to access traditional equities without ever touching a conventional brokerage account.
The shares are issued by Backpack Securities, a regulated US broker that has been methodically building out a tokenized equities platform on Solana since June 2026. Each tokenized share is backed 1:1 by an actual GoPro share held in custody, meaning holders can convert back to traditional brokerage entitlements whenever they want.
How the plumbing works
Sunrise, the asset gateway built by Wormhole Labs, serves as the infrastructure layer that makes these launches feel almost seamless. When a new tokenized equity gets listed, Sunrise establishes a canonical mint address that streamlines how the token gets distributed across wallets and decentralized exchanges.
The practical upside for traders is 24/7 market access. Traditional stock exchanges close at 4 PM Eastern, shut down on weekends, and take holidays off. Tokenized equities on Solana don’t.
Backpack’s growing equity roster
GoPro isn’t arriving in isolation. Backpack Securities kicked off its tokenized equity push on June 12, 2026, starting with SpaceX, a company whose shares are notoriously difficult to access because it remains private. Since then, the broker has added names like Micron and Moderna, steadily expanding the menu of traditional stocks available on-chain.

The early traction has been notable. Solana’s tokenized equity ecosystem hit over $1 billion in weekly trading volume back in June 2026, driven largely by demand for these newly available instruments.
Whether $GPRO generates that same level of enthusiasm is a different question. GoPro is a publicly traded company, so anyone with a Robinhood or Schwab account can already buy shares. The value proposition here is less about access and more about composability: the ability to use tokenized shares within DeFi protocols, trade them on DEXs, or hold them in self-custodial wallets alongside other crypto assets.
One important distinction for anyone searching Solana for GoPro-related tokens: an unrelated community token also named $GOPRO exists on the network. It has no connection to GoPro Inc. or to the Backpack Securities offering. The distinction matters because buying the wrong token is a mistake that costs real money, and the naming overlap is exactly the kind of confusion that bad actors exploit.
