IPX, which calls itself an operating system and exchange for intellectual property, has detailed a patent-pending system called KPI-Gated Escrow. The idea: crowdfunding and sponsorship money doesn’t reach a creator in one lump sum. It unlocks only as agreed milestones are hit.
The feature is planned for use when the IPX platform launches on November 15, 2026.
How the escrow is supposed to work
According to IPX, the system covers crowdfunding for video games and video production, along with sponsorship payments. Funds sit in smart contracts and are denominated in USDC, the dollar-pegged stablecoin.
When a milestone is reached, on-chain oracles confirm it and the contract releases the corresponding payment automatically. Oracles are services that feed real-world data into a blockchain. The platform plans to use Chainlink for KPI verification.
If a target is missed, the system is designed to refund backers automatically.
IPX also says an AI agent named Alfred will handle contract setup.
The platform will run on Base, the Ethereum Layer-2 network. Production budgets are set to flow in USDC, while IPX’s native $IPX token is intended to provide liquidity. Fiat on- and off-ramps are expected to come through a partnership with Bridge, so users can move between dollars and crypto without leaving the platform.
The pitch: protection for backers, discipline for creators
IPX frames the escrow as a consumer protection tool. The company says it is meant to shield retail participants and discourage bad actors and bad behavior on both sides of a raise.

The pain points it targets are familiar ones in creator-led funding. Payments arrive late. Backers have little visibility into where their money went. Promised deliverables drift into an indefinite “coming soon.”
Fresh funding and a celebrity bench
The announcement lands about two weeks after IPX closed a $4 million seed round on October 15, 2026. That round valued the company at $125 million.
Bitsurge Holdings and YICIPX Holdings Family Office led the raise.
IPX has also leaned hard on entertainment star power. Musician Ja Rule has been named President of the Celebrity Board of Advisors and is a founding shareholder.
The company says it will launch with more than 100 exclusive tokenization agreements with celebrities, athletes and creators. Expected projects span films, sports and community-driven fan engagement.
Tokenization here means turning rights or interests tied to a piece of intellectual property into digital tokens that can be held or traded on-chain.
What this means
The most interesting part of IPX’s design is not the token or the celebrity roster. It is the attempt to make accountability automatic rather than reputational.
The oracle layer is where much of the trust ends up concentrated. If the data feeding Chainlink is incomplete or disputed, the automatic release or refund could trigger at the wrong time.
The dual-currency setup deserves attention too. Keeping production budgets in USDC insulates creators from the price swings of a volatile token. Pairing that with $IPX for liquidity means the platform’s own token still sits at the center of the ecosystem.
