Crypto wallet MetaMask has partnered with internet payment processor Stripe to offer US-based customers the ability to purchase crypto using US dollars, according to a tweet by MetaMask posted yesterday.

Starting this week, MetaMask users can access Stripe’s on-ramp through the mobile app, browser extension, and MetaMask Portfolio dapp.

This is made possible thanks to Stripe’s fiat on-ramp services called Link, a payment solution that simplifies the purchase experience by converting fiat currencies into crypto with one click. Stripe’s Link handles compliance obligations – KYC, verification, fraud – when integrated into decentralized apps and platforms.

The partnership with Stripe comes after MetaMask launched its Snaps feature, which allows users to have seamless interactions with blockchains beyond the Ethereum ecosystem, such as Bitcoin and Solana.
