The tokenization firm says moving just 2% of U.S. equities on-chain could double the current size of the entire crypto market.
Two percent sounds like a rounding error. In the context of U.S. equities, it represents $2 trillion.
That is the math Securitize laid out during its August 13 earnings call, framing native tokenization of public equities as one of the largest untapped opportunities in financial infrastructure. The company, which trades on the NYSE under the ticker SECZ, argued that a modest 2% migration of U.S. stocks and ETFs onto blockchain rails could generate a market roughly equal in size to all of crypto combined.
The gap between what exists and what is possible
Today, tokenized equities account for roughly $2 billion globally. That figure sounds large until you set it next to the $100 trillion-plus value of U.S. equities and ETFs.
Securitize also pointed out that most of the $2 billion currently in existence consists of synthetic instruments or offshore assets, meaning shareholders often lack full legal ownership rights.
The firm’s pitch centers on what it calls “native tokenization,” a model where the issuer itself sponsors the token and shareholders retain complete rights, including voting and dividends.

Securitize put that model into practice on July 2, 2026, the day of its NYSE listing, by tokenizing its own shares on both Solana and Avalanche. At the time, the tokenized shares were valued between roughly $266 million and $295 million, making it the largest tokenized equity issuance on record at that moment.
Infrastructure, partnerships, and the road to scale
Securitize has partnerships with the NYSE, transfer agent Computershare, and BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager.
Beyond equities, Securitize already manages about $38 billion across various tokenized asset categories, which include private credit, real estate, and funds. The company also crossed $5 billion in assets under management in early Q3 2026.
