Securitize launches tokenized US stocks on Solana

Securitize Stocks are expected to trade on the upcoming NYSE digital venue and OKXICE Tokenized Securities Venue.

Securitize is bringing major US equities onchain with security entitlements backed one-for-one by the underlying shares, the company announced Thursday.

The products, Securitize Stocks, will initially trade on Solana through Securitize’s registered broker-dealer, with transactions settled in USDC. The launch includes 12 US equities: AAPL, MSFT, NVDA, GOOG, TSLA, META, AMZN, NFLX, CRCL, SPCX, MSTR and PLTR.

The tokens are each backed by one underlying share and structured as security entitlements under UCC Article 8, providing applicable rights and economic benefits, including dividends and voting rights for eligible share classes. Through Securitize’s transfer-agent partnerships, the entitlements can be converted into direct share ownership where available.

Infrastructure and market structure implications

The launch also connects tokenized equities to several regulated and institutional market structures.

Securitize Stocks are expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange’s forthcoming 24/7 digital trading venue, subject to the venue’s launch and applicable regulatory and operational requirements. They are also expected to be available on the OKXICE Tokenized Securities Venue, which combines OKX’s blockchain technology and global reach with the regulatory experience and institutional connectivity of Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the NYSE.

Securitize said Securitize Stocks are designed to be consistent with SEC guidance on tokenized securities. Secondary-market trading is offered through Securitize’s registered broker-dealer in a regulated manner without the need for exemptions. The company also expects the stocks to be eligible for trading on Tokenized Securities Venues as contemplated by the SEC’s Innovation Exemption.

Trading will initially be available during extended hours, with Securitize planning to move toward 24/7 availability. Jump Trading will provide market-making and liquidity through Securitize’s Solana PropAMM, while Ripple Prime and Aave are among the firms exploring institutional trading, lending and collateral applications for the tokenized equities.
