Solana now hosts a record 2,077 unique tokenized equity products. That count tops the previous peak of 2,036, which means the shelf of on-chain stocks and ETFs got noticeably longer in a short window.

The numbers behind the milestone

First, a quick primer. A tokenized equity is a digital token designed to track a traditional asset, such as a share of a US company or an ETF.

Think of it as a receipt for a stock that lives on a blockchain instead of in a brokerage account. You can hold it in a crypto wallet, trade it at odd hours, and buy fractions of it.

The product count is only one of several metrics moving up. Tokenized equity supply hit an all-time high of $684 million in September 2026. That figure was up 47% in just three weeks.

Trading activity tells a similar story. Monthly volumes reached approximately $3.3 billion before climbing to $4.4 billion in September 2026.

The user base is expanding too. Holder addresses for tokenized equities reached 850,000 in September 2026 and later passed 1 million. Some reports put the figure as high as 1.5 million.

One caveat worth keeping in mind: a wallet address is not a person. One investor can control several addresses, so these figures measure activity more than unique humans.

Who is building the shelf

The growth is not coming from a single company. Several issuers are stocking Solana’s tokenized equity catalog.

xStocks, which launched in June 2025, leads the pack. Ondo Global Markets expanded onto the scene in January 2026, and Backpack Securities began offering products in June 2026.

Solana has also captured the largest share of on-chain tokenized equity trading volume among rival blockchains. Part of the appeal is integration with the network’s DeFi protocols, the decentralized apps that handle lending and trading without a traditional intermediary.

In practical terms, a tokenized share on Solana does not have to sit idle. Holders can plug it into lending markets or swap it on decentralized exchanges.

The night owls are driving trades

Perhaps the most telling data point is when people trade. Up to 63% of tokenized equity trades take place outside traditional market hours.

Traditional US stock exchanges keep fixed hours on weekdays. Blockchains, by contrast, run around the clock, including weekends and holidays.

The regulatory backdrop

The milestone lands shortly after a notable policy development. The US SEC announced an innovation exemption in mid-September 2026.

That exemption is seen as making conditions more favorable for on-chain trading of tokenized NMS stocks. NMS stocks are the category covering shares listed on national US exchanges.

The timing is hard to ignore. Supply jumped 47% in three weeks during the same month the exemption was announced.

What this means

For investors, the most concrete takeaway is access. Tokenized equities on Solana offer fractional exposure to popular US stocks, with trading hours that traditional venues simply do not match.

There are risks to weigh. A token tracking a stock is only as reliable as the issuer behind it, and the structures vary from platform to platform.

Liquidity is another question. Trading after hours can mean thinner order books, which can translate into wider price gaps between the token and the underlying share.

The scale also deserves perspective. A supply of $684 million is a record for this niche, but it remains a small slice compared with the traditional equity markets these tokens mirror.
