Aave moves to put LlamaRisk agents in charge of Pendle collateral on Plasma

A governance proposal would let automated risk oracle agents tune parameters for PT-sUSDe-22OCT2026 within strict step limits and cooldowns

Aave is preparing to hand a slice of its risk management to software. LlamaRisk has proposed registering its LlamaGuard PT risk oracle agents on Aave V3 Plasma. The agents would adjust collateral settings for a Pendle Principal Token automatically.

The asset in question is PT-sUSDe-22OCT2026. More than $45 million of it had been supplied when the proposal landed.

What the proposal actually does

The governance proposal kicked off on October 1, 2026. It asks Aave to register LlamaRisk’s agents so they can change specific risk parameters for the PT-sUSDe-22OCT2026 market on Plasma.

The agents run on Chainlink’s Runtime Environment, carrying a risk decision from LlamaRisk’s models onto the blockchain without someone pushing a button each time.

The parameters in scope include smoothed interest rates and liquidation thresholds.

The supply figures vary depending on who is counting. The proposal cited over $45 million supplied at the time. Later market tracker data put the figure at approximately $37 million on Plasma.

Aave’s parameters for the October 2026 maturity included a supply cap of 150 million, alongside settings described as conservative.

The guardrails are the real story

Discount rate changes are capped at 100 basis points per update. At least 2 days must pass between those updates.

E-Mode parameters face a tighter leash. Each can move by no more than 50 basis points at a time, with a minimum gap of 3 days between changes.

Aave governance also keeps its hand on the controls. Agents must be registered through governance in the first place, and emergency protocols remain available.

How Aave got here

LlamaRisk originally handled Pendle PT parameters through manual risk stewardship. That shifted earlier in 2026, when LlamaGuard PT moved to automated, on-chain execution. The switch happened on Ethereum first, around early September. Plasma is the next stop.

Pendle PTs are a moving target as collateral. A principal token is essentially a claim on an underlying asset at a future date, so its fair value changes as that date gets closer and as market rates shift.

PTs have also become popular as productive collateral on Aave. Users deposit them in E-Mode, which offers more favorable borrowing terms for correlated assets, and build leveraged strategies on top.

What this means for Aave, Pendle and Plasma users

For borrowers using PT-sUSDe-22OCT2026 on Plasma, the practical change is more frequent, smaller adjustments within the 100 and 50 basis point bands.

With 2-day and 3-day minimum gaps, no position should face a sudden parameter cliff from the agents alone.

For Aave as a protocol, the Ethereum deployment served as a proving ground. Extending it to Plasma signals that governance is comfortable letting registered agents operate across more than one network.

Every new agent registration widens the set of actors that can touch live risk settings. How Aave handles registrations, revocations and emergency overrides on Plasma will shape whether this model spreads to other assets and chains.
