Ripple debuts toolkit for autonomous AI transactions on XRP Ledger
The x402 facilitator lets AI agents pay with XRP or RLUSD without accounts, API keys, or human babysitting.
Ripple on Wednesday introduced the XRPL AI Starter Kit to support developers in building autonomous payment systems and AI agents on the XRP Ledger.
The launch reflects growing interest in machine-driven commerce, where AI agents can independently purchase services, settle payments and execute transactions without manual approval.
At launch, the toolkit enables X402-based payments using XRP and RLUSD. This gives agents the ability to transact for digital services such as API access and AI model usage.
Available resources include new documentation tools, Claude integrations for wallet management and payments, and educational guides for creating agentic transaction flows.
Ripple said the XRP Ledger offers advantages for AI payments through fast settlement times, predictable fees, native asset transfers and more than a decade of network reliability.
The company also highlighted Ripple USD (RLUSD) as a stablecoin rail for AI applications that require dollar-based accounting and settlement.
The company said developers can begin testing applications immediately using the starter kit and XRPL testnet resources.
Future phases of the initiative are expected to expand functionality based on community input and advancing AI commerce needs.
