Robinhood hits all-time revenue highs as PONS holds 7% mindshare
Robinhood Chain is pulling in more daily app revenue than Ethereum, and a memecoin launchpad nobody planned for is doing most of the heavy lifting.
Robinhood Chain, the company’s Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain that launched on July 1, 2026, just posted $2.66 million in 24-hour app revenue. That figure surpasses both Ethereum and Hyperliquid on the same metric.
The unlikely engine behind those numbers: Pons, a non-custodial token launchpad that currently commands roughly 7% of broader market mindshare while dominating on-chain activity. Pons alone generated approximately $930,000 in protocol revenue in a recent 24-hour window, making it the single largest contributor to the chain’s financial output.
A chain built for RWAs that got overrun by memecoins
Robinhood originally positioned its Layer-2 (Chain ID 4663) as a home for tokenized real-world assets and DeFi applications. Within weeks of launch, memecoin activity flooded the chain, and Pons emerged as the dominant launchpad. The platform now accounts for approximately 66% of daily token launches and 78% of new-token trading volume on Robinhood Chain.
Together with GMGN and Uniswap, Pons helped form a trio that collectively drives nearly 88% of the chain’s daily revenue. Gas fees on the chain hit $495,000 in a single day after costs.

The PONS token: from $60M to $400M in a week
The $PONS token’s market capitalization surged from roughly $60 million to a peak of $400 million within a single week, before stabilizing around $300 million in late August 2026. Pons has a buyback-and-burn mechanism that ties protocol earnings directly to token supply reduction. In one reported period, the platform burned 29% of its total token supply through these buybacks. The correlation between Pons’ dominant position on the chain and the token’s price action has been fairly direct: when the platform captures 50-80% of launches and transactions, the revenue flywheel keeps turning.
What Robinhood actually built (and what the market decided it was for)
Robinhood Chain appears to be following the same script as prior blockchain platforms that launched with institutional-grade aspirations before retail traders turned them into venues for speculative activity. The chain’s breakout moment came from a launchpad that helps people create and trade speculative tokens at scale. The $2.66 million daily revenue figure doesn’t discriminate between a tokenized bond and a dog-themed coin, and the chain’s economic model captures value through gas fees and app-layer activity regardless of what’s being traded.
Implications for the broader market
The concentrated nature of the chain’s activity is worth watching closely. When three applications drive 88% of revenue, the chain’s financial health is essentially a bet on those applications’ continued dominance. The $PONS token’s buyback-and-burn mechanism gives it a value accrual story that most meme-adjacent tokens lack, and the stabilization around $300 million market cap suggests the market is pricing in sustained revenue generation. Robinhood reports earnings in the coming weeks, and the chain’s revenue contribution — specifically beating Ethereum in daily app revenue — is likely to feature prominently in the company’s narrative to Wall Street.
